EXTRA MEETING
This extra meeting has been called due to the sad death of Councillor John Pratt.

It was with great sadness Mrs Loynes advised the Council of the sudden death of Councillor John Pratt who represented the Council for more than 40 years many of which he served as Chairman until just recently.
All attending wished to pay tribute to his service and dedication to Lillings Ambo Parish Council over his many years as a member.
1. The Clerk informed the Council of the process involved in replacing a Parish
Councillor mid term. The Clerk and Chairman provided information received from
Ryedale District Council and the Local Councils Association.
Councillor Barker provided extra information obtained from Ryedale District Council.
A lengthy and detailed discussion then took place to include, a costly election should
10 electors or more claim a pole; Co-opting after the 17/7/2018 should only one
candidate put their name forward; and should there be more than one candidate then
the council can interview and make a decision on co-opting. The Clerk has received a
letter from Mr Don McBurney applying for the position. The Chairman will contact
Ryedale for further advice on filling the councillor vacancy. Councillor Barker asked
that ‘In the event of No Election being called for the Casual Vacancy that Lillings
Ambo Parish Council undertakes to Co-opt Mr Don McBurney.
A notice will be placed on the village notice board and web site re applications for the
vacancy. Any application should be received in writing by the Clerk by 9th July. The
notice being displayed is subject to confirmation from Ryedale District Council.
2. Signatures on Lloyds and Post Office accounts were discussed. Letters removing
Councillor Pratt as a signatory and requesting advice on a replacement signature were
signed.
3. Duo Designs. An invoice for the new noticeboard has been received and a cheque
will be sent for payment. An excellent job has been done for the village at cost. The
Clerk was to question the locking mechanism with Duo Designs.
The next Parish Council Meeting is Tuesday 7th August as previously arranged.
