Minutes of the meeting of Lillings Ambo Parish Council held at
‘Ghyll House’, West Lilling. on Tuesday 7th August 2018 at 5-30 pm.

Beryl Haigh & Peter Brown representing the Sheriff Hutton History Group gave the Parish Councillors a briefing on the archive store at Sheriff Hutton Village Hall. They then explained their request for a donation towards storage boxes and folders for the archiving of West Lilling items. The Chairman had visited the archives that afternoon and photographs were shown of the store.
Minutes of the meetings held on Tuesday 1st May 2018 and Thursday 28th June 2018. Minutes previously distributed, discussed approved & signed by the Chairman.
a) History Group Donation. Concern was expressed re the use of the Charity Fund for a donation to the History Group. Terms of the Charity fund will be investigated by Councillors Magee and Barker. The Chairman will contact the History Group Treasurer, Mrs Beryl Haigh, thanking them for taking time showing her round the Archive room in Sheriff Hutton Village Hall, and for coming to the meeting to explain the work of the History Group Archive. The letter will express the Council’s concern in the use of the Charity Fund for a donation but promises to contact them again when the terms of the Charity Fund have been investigated.
b). Village Notice Board. Duo Designs invoice has been paid. They will look at changing the locking system on the board. They will also do minor repairs to the village fingerpost.
Co-option of new Parish Councillor.
Mr D.McBurney confirmed his interest in becoming a Lillings Ambo Parish Councillor to fill the Casual Vacancy by Co-option. Mr McBurney was proposed by Councillor Barker and seconded by Councillor Wreglesworth. All Councillors agreed. Mr McBurney signed the‘Declaration of Acception of Office as a Parish Councillor’ form and agreed to accept the ‘Councils Code of Conduct’. Within 28 days Councillor McBurney will complete a ‘Register of Interests ‘form to be sent to Ryedale District Council. The Chairman welcomed Councillor McBurney to the team.
a) Highways Workshop. The Chairman and Councillor Mr Pratt had attended a Highways workshop on the Parish Councils behalf. Information on the Parish Portal and Highways traffic links were gathered. The Clerk will investigate these.
b) Sheriff Hutton Speed Watch. Terry Johnson the Sheriff Hutton Speed Watch Co-ordinator has contacted the Chairman and updated her on the collection of data and deployment of a camera van in West Lilling.
c) Overgrown Hedges. A letter has been sent to Rose Cottage re the overgrown hedge which obstructs the footpath between West Lilling and Sheriff Hutton. This hedge has now been trimmed back.
A complaint has been received about the overgrown hedge near Oak’s View. The owner has been informed

Mr Colin Johnson has completed the Internal Audit for the Parish. A notice has been placed on the Village Notice-Board regarding the details for the ‘Right to View’ the accounts. This display period is now complete. The accounts have been sent to the external auditors PKF Littlejohn LLP.
Any Other Business.
Council agreed for the Clerk to e-mailing Agendas and Minutes in the future.
The date of the next meeting was agreed for Wednesday 7th November 2018.
